Is there anything more uplifting than watching a rescued animal experience their happy ending? It truly does the heart good to see a scared, abused, or injured creature return to its former state of health, happiness, and vitality … and observing the care and consideration given to them by human carers is a fantastic way of restoring your faith in humanity.
Animal Defenders International (ADI) have just released an amazing video showing how Mufasa, the last wild animal to be held captive in a Peruvian circus, finally “lost his chains” and was brought to a new forest home!
Peru banned the use of wild animals in circuses in 2011, but many of the country’s circus companies initially attempted to defy the law. ADI made it their mission to track down these companies and remove the animals from them … and now that Mufasa has been freed, Peru is officially free of animal circuses!
At the start of the video, Mufasa can be seen languishing in the back of a truck, still in chain – his depressed, listless demeanor is a truly heartbreaking sight. However, his spirits are soon lifted as he begins the journey to his new home in the Peruvian rainforest.
ADI said, “Mufasa now enjoys the sights and sounds of the Amazon forest, within a secure ADI natural habitat where we can continue to provide him with the specialist care he needs.”
This beautiful mountain lion, who endured twenty years of circus captivity, has finally found the freedom he deserves! To find out more about the work of ADI, visit their website. You can Donate to the organization here.

Happy for that kitty, I allow my children to make their own choices as 6 and 8 yr olds, when invited by friends and family to any animal exploitation event but I surely have taught them as much as I could about why I dont support that myself and they’re ok with me not bringing them. In fact they’re happy to know some of the little ways they can help cut down on animal abuse
Run and rest free cute wild beauty!!!!!
