Summer is just around the corner, and with it comes the smell of charcoal and the sound of sizzling burgers on an open grill. In keeping with the theme of the season, MorningStar Farms, creator of America’s top-selling veggie burger, has released two new all-vegan burger patties!

The new Veggie Lovers Burger is the company’s first quarter-pound vegan patty and is made with 10 veggies, grains, and seeds, including mushrooms, carrots, lentils, spinach, brown rice, and pumpkin and sunflower seeds. It has nine grams of protein, is made with non-GMO soy, and contains no artificial colors or flavors.

The new Meat Lovers Burger boasts a whopping 27 grams of protein and has 26 percent less fat than a beef patty. It is also made with non-GMO soy and contains no artificial colors or flavors.

MorningStar has launched a summer grilling dining experience series that begins in New York and will continue to Los Angeles and Chicago. The brand is partnering with EatWith, a communal dining app and website, with the goal of bringing communities together with food and talented chefs. All four of MorningStar’s vegan burgers (including their best-selling Spicy Black Bean Burger and their Grillers Original patty) will be featured at each of these events this summer.

Melissa Cash, senior director of brand marketing at Kellogg Company, said, “Summer is all about gathering around the grill and eating with friends and family to enjoy delicious food, and we want to show why MorningStar Farms veggie burgers and plant protein deserve a spot on your grill this year. That’s why we’re partnering with EatWith – to bring people together over great food … Making room for plant-based proteins on the grill adds different and unique flavors to your summer eating experiences that will appeal to guests who may want something other than meat at your cookout.”

Consumer habits have been making a major shift as of late, with nearly half of millennials opting for meat-free options for environmental concerns, Generation Z preferring plant-based foods, and 50 percent of Americans surveyed saying they are in favor of banning slaughterhouses. Plant-based nutrition continues to rise in popularity as campaigns like Meatless Mondays, and those promoted by celebrities like Beyoncé and Tom Brady, have introduced people to how easy, healthy, and delicious making plant-based foods can be. Considering all this, MorningStar’s new vegan grillers are sure to be a big bit!

We can’t wait to try both of MorningStar’s new vegan burgers! To learn more about the brand and their products, visit their website here.
