After a concerned citizen saw a pitiful looking dog roaming the streets, they made the call to animal control to have her picked up. It was the first step on the long journey Sylvie would have ahead of her. She was then taken to the San Antonio shelter were her chances of survival were still very slim. Thankfully, Rescue Dogs Rock NYC saw sweet Sylvie, took a leap of faith, and saved her.

Even though Sylvie is only around one year old, she looks much older- living on the streets alone, scared, and starving definitely took its toll on the poor girl.

She is covered in scabs with very little hair covering her emaciated body.

Sylvie also has a severely injured leg that she is unable to put pressure on. Clearly, she is need of urgent care and luckily, is already scheduled for a vet visit.

As an animal lover, no matter how much we see innocent animals suffer it always tears at our hearts. The only good that can result is the fact that we can make a difference by donating, volunteering, or rescuing. When Rescue Dogs Rock NYC made the decision to save Sylvie, they didn’t know where the money to care for her would come from. They simply could not leave her to think she was worthless, that no one cared. Remind her of how precious she really is and Donate to her care today by clicking here.

As always, remember that adopting a dog is a serious commitment. Pets should be treated with the same love, respect, and care as any other member of the family. When a dog is abandoned, whether on the streets or at a shelter, it affects not only that dog in ways you can’t imagine, but also other dogs awaiting a home and even the shelter workers and rescues themselves, emotionally and financially.
