Cute Interaction Between Golden Retriever and Baby Squirrel Goes Viral

An adorable interaction between a Golden Retriever and a baby squirrel is going viral on the social media platform TikTok. Golden Retrievers are often listed as one of the friendliest dog breeds. However, they love to chase and fetch objects, making it likely that they may inadvertently harm small animals. Yet in a video posted to the TikTok account @awright981, Flint the Golden Retriever shows admirable restraint and gentleness when interacting with the baby squirrel.

In the video, a Golden Retriever named Flint can be seen excitedly circling a baby squirrel. The small rodent does not seem scared of the large dog. Indeed, when Flint lays down the young squirrel even climbs between his paws to check him out more closely. 

People online praised Flint for his gentleness and restraint while interacting with the baby squirrel. The video has received over 23,000 likes and lots of comments. “So cute, he wanted to speak and network,” one person wrote.
