A Cow Was Kept Outside In a Blizzard and Authorities Ignored It — Demand Justice Now!

Now that winter has officially started and temperatures are dropping, we all must remember to take extra precautions when it comes to letting our animal companions outside. As with humans, extreme weather can harm animals, and adequate shelter must be provided for them at all times.

Unfortunately, a farmer in Torbay, Newfoundland does not believe animals should be given shelter during extreme weather, as numerous people have seen a cow at the farm tied to a short rope outside during a blizzard. Covered in a thick layer of snow and freezing, the poor cow had no choice but to endure the icy temperatures. Authorities were contacted, but they did nothing to help the cow. Several complaints about the farmer have previously been made, including reports of neglect of three horses, one of whom died.

A petition has been set up on Care2 to demand justice and remove the cow to adequate shelter, charge the farmer with animal neglect, and prevent him from having animals in the future. Please take a moment to sign the petition here.
