In an amusing viral moment, a corgi named Dash made quite the statement about his dinner running a few seconds late. With a TikTok video posted by @dash_and_furrious reaching over 1.5 million views, the world witnessed the endearing tantrum of this “hangry” corgi. A classic scene in the kitchen ensued as Dash tossed his toy onto the counter, prompting his owner to humorously note, “This is why we can’t have nice things.”

Renowned as a favorite of the late Queen Elizabeth II, the Pembroke Welsh corgi holds an esteemed position in the canine world. Known for their distinct look and vibrant personalities, corgis are a beloved breed hailing from Wales in the United Kingdom. Their Welsh moniker, “cor” and “gi,” can be interpreted as “watch over dog” or “dwarf dog.”

Packed into their petite stature is a wealth of personality and an impressive lineage tied to charming Welsh legends. Folklore suggests that fairies and elves utilized these dogs to pull their coaches, manage their cattle, and even as noble steeds in times of conflict. This enchanted backstory and their historical use in herding large farm animals and guarding farms give these dogs a unique charm and make them a symbol of national pride.

Despite their small size, corgis pack a “big dog attitude” and require considerable stimulation. Left alone or under-exercised, they may resort to excessive barking or chewing. However, their strong personality combined with their friendly nature makes them a great fit for family life.

The video of Dash, the dinner-delayed corgi, delighted TikTok users, earning over 105,000 likes and inspiring comments like, “Corgi acts like he pays all the bills!!!” and “Corgis are such foodies.”
