Great Dane Adopts “New Grandma,” Brightens Up TikTok

When Kernel the Great Dane and his human, Alyssa Berkovitz, first met his “New Grandma” and her late husband, they became instant friends. The Great Dane would often see the elderly couple on hiking trails near Boston, Massachusetts. The couple adored the massive Great Dane. However, sadly, the man passed away. After Kernel ran into his “New Grandma” alone on a walk, the Great Dane and his human began going on weekly hikes with her. The story, shared to the TikTok account @kernelthegreat, has warmed hearts on the platform.

The adorable video shows “New Grandma” on a hike with Kernel and a group of dogs. She recounts the story of how she and her late husband first met the Great Dane and impressively recalls the names of all the dogs in the group.
