This is such an incredible story! We’re amazed by the perseverance of Sandy and his rescuers.
One day, Seán McCormack, the founder of Animal Care Trust, saw a Facebook post about a dog in need and offered his help. However, this wasn’t just any rescue operation. The dog was in a remote village that couldn’t be accessed by car. The journey to the dog required a 6-hour hike, but McCormack didn’t let this challenge phase him. Around 3 am, he and Ross Tweedie, an experienced hiker from Thailand Adventures, set off to find the dog.
After a long and difficult hike, McCormack and Tweedie arrived at the village and located the dog, whom they named Sandy. He was a sweet dog, who was obviously in a lot of pain. Sandy’s two front feet were missing, as they had been cut off in a poacher’s traps or snares. Unable to make the journey on-foot, Sandy was carried down in McCormack’s backpack.
After some medical care and rest, Sandy started to perk up and even tried to walk around! Touched by this sweet pup’s story, a person named Bob reached out on Facebook to foster Sandy. That didn’t last long though…because Bob decided to adopt him!
Sandy as happy as can be in his forever home! Plus, he got prosthetics and can now move around freely!
Take a look at Sandy now! We love a happy ending!
