Pet parents have embraced advanced camera technology to monitor and interact with their pets at home, which allows them to dispense treats remotely. Lisa Van Wagoner, known on TikTok as @lisalou0703, set up a Furbo Dog Camera in her living room to keep an eye on her dog, Bentley. This camera not only allows humans to watch and talk to their pets but also toss treats.
Bentley, however, seems to believe he controls the Furbo. Whenever he looks at the camera long enough, treats seem to appear as if by magic. This clever pup’s routine was inadvertently supported by Van Wagoner’s family. They would visit to check on her father and, noticing Bentley’s patient vigil in front of the camera, would text Van Wagoner to remind her that Bentley “needs a treat.”
As soon as Van Wagoner received these messages, she would open the Furbo app to find Bentley eagerly waiting for his treat. A TikTok video she posted on April 28 showcases Bentley’s antics and the messages she receives from her family, all while he waits for his reward. The caption reads: “Raise your hand if you have a dog who is obsessed with a Furbo camera.”
The video struck a chord with viewers, garnering 1.2 million views and 200,000 likes.
