When your animal friend goes missing, those few days of searching can be unbearable. Delilah Gagliardi knows this feeling; when she opened her door to let her dog Allie go into the backyard, she probably thought nothing of this typical action. But when she tried to let Allie back in, the dog was gone. For two days, Delilah’s beloved pooch was missing.
Then, a few days later, Delilah was sitting in her living room when she heard whining under her floorboards. It was Allie! The dog had found a way under the house and had become stuck there. Delilah called the Humane Society of Pinellas, who came to the rescue.
They took apart the front porch to make an opening to free the trapped dog. Animal caretakers Maddy Ferguson and Shelby Ross pulled Allie out of the trapped space. The dog looks so relieved when her human friend gets to hold her in her arms again. We’re glad that Allie is back home safe with her family.
