In most rescue stories involving an animal, there is a brave human who steps in to save the day – well, in this story, the hero in question is none other than a dog!

A labrador named Chuck came to the rescue of a tiny, injured bird who was maybe two weeks old and just out of the egg. When he discovered the bird, she was weak. She must have fallen out of her nest and been left to survive out in the wild all on her own. After just three days of being nursed back to health, this bird was flying all over the house and even stopping to rest on Chuck’s head.
While this friendship is nothing short of beautiful, Chuck is very realistic about the fact that this baby bird will need to return to the wild, where she belongs, once she is strong enough. Once the bird felt healthy enough, she sat by the window as if communicating that she was ready to go home. She was so lucky that some pretty amazing people were willing to do whatever they could to save an animal in need!
