Romeo the dog was abandoned by his family. Left at a shelter by the humans he loved more than anything in the world, he fell into a deep depression and lost his trust of all humans. He even refused to take treats from shelter workers.
However, it took a mere two days for humans to regain Romeo’s trust. It’s thanks to their patience, he got a chance at finding a new forever home.
Dogs have the ability to bounce back from trauma remarkably quickly, but this does not lessen the impact that abuse can have on them.
Remember, adopting a dog is a lifetime commitment. Considering that the love that pups have for their family truly seems to be beyond what we humans can comprehend, the pain of being separated from their loved ones is one of the worst things that they can experience. Adoption is more than letting an animal into your home — it’s signing on for another member of your family.
Please keep us (your FB followers) updated about Romeo being successfully placed in his forever home. :)
I love what you have achieved in only two days with Romeo. Thank you for helping him come out of his depression and engaged with life again. Have a wonderful new year and keep doing all the great work that you do for animals. In appreciation and with respect, keep going strong in 2016 <3
