The 30-year-old model shared with Fox News Digital that her love for animals inspired her dietary choices. “I’m a longtime animal lover,” Harper explained. “I never wanted to do anything that would hurt them. That’s what initially made me switch to a more plant-based lifestyle… I feel like I’m glowing from the inside out just eating that type of food.”

Harper noted that while her usual routine suffices for staying in shape, transitioning from traditional Japanese cuisine, rich in sushi, to plant-based alternatives was challenging. “I grew up eating a lot of sushi, which was the hardest part to let go. But there are so many good plant-based alternatives these days, like tofu or avocado rolls.”

Emphasizing the importance of enjoying meals with loved ones, Harper advises those interested in plant-based diets to start slowly. “You can begin by adding a few plant-forward ingredients to your meals. Dining out can still be enjoyable as many restaurants offer plant-based options, and you can always ask the chef to create something special.” Harper enjoys experimenting with plant-based recipes at home, with pasta being a favorite.

Modeling since the age of nine, Harper reflects on her journey and the confidence boost posing for Sports Illustrated has given her. “It’s really hard to be a woman. You feel constantly judged and often compare yourself to others. Sports Illustrated gave me the confidence to be me, showing that it’s OK to be different and celebrate ourselves.”
