What does it take to be a good mother? You might think that this task involves being kind, loving and maybe even the same species as your offspring. Alright, so maybe you’d think the last one would be a given but this is not always the case!
What really makes for a good mother is someone who is willing to set aside all preconceived notions or hang ups and extend a loving hand (or paw) to another creature in need. The Chihuahua in this video is the perfect example of this.
When a volunteer from the Hi Tor Animal Shelter agreed to take in two kittens for bottle feeding, she was surprised to find that her Chihuahua Lucy Lou had stepped in to care for the babies. Little Lucy feeds the babies, grooms them, and cuddles with them just as if they were her own!
Thanks to this Super Mom, these kittens will grow up healthy and strong. Way to go, Lucy!
