On April 13, 2017, the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) responded to a case of animal cruelty in Habersham County, Georgia. Nothing could prepare the rescue team for what they encountered at this residence. Over 350 animals were found barely surviving in absolutely deplorable conditions. Dogs were overcrowded in filthy cages suffering from serious health issues and ailments resulting from neglect. Although most of the 350 animals are dogs, the rescue team also discovered neglected cats, bunnies, pigs, chickens, ducks, doves, donkeys, a horse, and an alpaca on the premises.
Along with hundreds of others, this young dog and her newborn puppies were found in inches of urine and feces. These filthy conditions are not healthy for a young mother to raise her babies.
This incredible rescue was made possible by HSUS and several other animal welfare organizations. These animals are not available for adoption yet, but HSUS will be keeping the public posted when they are ready for their forever homes. To show your Support and contribute to the recovery of these innocent animals, please consider making a donation to HSUS on their website. And remember to share this uplifting story with your friends and family!
