In the fashion world, there’s nothing more en-vogue than the environment. The industry is a major contributor to water pollution, but since the fashion world is often on the cutting edge of culture, being environmentally conscious is just good business. Fashion companies everywhere have embraced sustainable materials, as well as ditched products made through animal exploitation.

On March 17th, Clothing retailer H&M hosted a blockbuster party to celebrate the their Conscious Exclusive collection in Los Angeles. Attendees included actors and influences, like Dakota Fanning, Irina Shayk, Halima Aden, Rowan Blanchard, Camila Morrone, Alek WekAbigail Spencer, Emmanuelle Chriqui, and Amber Valletta.

The Conscious Exclusive collection features clothing made from environmentally friendly and sustainable-made materials, and looks toward a sustainable future in the fashion industry. The line launches on April 11th, and will be available in select stores worldwide as well as online.

The 2019 spring line of H&M Conscious Exclusive collection makes use of three innovative sustainable materials: Piñatex, a leather alternative made from pineapple leaf fibers, Orange Fiber, sustainable silk alternative crafted from the by-products citrus juice, and BLOOM Foam, a flexible, plant-based foam made from algae.

Ann-Sofie Johansson, Creative Advisor at H&M said of the new line:

“For this collection, we explored the beauty in nature, which shows in the prints, as well as the flowy silhouettes, the striking color palette and the attention to detail. We’re thrilled to introduce new plant-based sustainable materials to create high-performing, beautiful and fashionable pieces that are statement-making yet so easy to wear.”
