15 Wacky Pet Names That Are Sure to Make You Smile

Getting a pet is a huge responsibility and should not be entered into lightly. You’re taking on the care of another being, ensuring it has the food, water and shelter that it needs as well as love and nurturing. Seriously, you cannot drop the ball on these things. Nor can you drop the ball on another huge responsibility for pet guardians … coming up with a name so epic that all heads will turn when you shout it at the dog park.

If this task has you stumped, never fear, that’s where  the VPI Wacky Pet Names list can help you out. Consisting of pet names from their policy holders, Veterinary Pet Insurance compiles the list of 50 cat names and 50 dog names every year and then selects their top ten winners. The entire list, as well as lists from years previous, is pretty hilarious when you try to picture what the dog or cat saddled with a name like, “Franco Furter” or “Ozzy Pawsbourne” must look like.

We couldn’t help but compile a list of our all time favorites from the incredible selections available through the years, with a little dramatic interpretation of what these pets would look like. Honestly, some of these were just too perfect a fit for these creative names!
