In many cases, once they begin their new lives, rescued dogs have to quite literally learn to be a dog all over again. After the trauma of abuse and neglect, the many days, months, or years of living a life full of fear and cruelty, these wonderful animals finally get to see the world with entirely new eyes. After rescue, they encounter many things for the very first time in their lives.

What we associate with dogs very naturally – like, for instance, just playing with toys or with people – is to them an uncharted territory. It is no wonder then that new experiences and stimuli are simply overwhelming to dogs just beginning to find their proper place in the world – this time, a world full of love.

Rosie, one of the rescue dogs from the Trio Animal Foundation, has exactly this kind of reaction when she is faced with something seriously unprecedented – a huge trunk crammed full of toys! This beautiful girl is fascinated and confused by the abundance of toys and her reaction to finding her box full of treasure is priceless. It is hard to say if she ever had the chance to simply play and have fun, but one thing is for certain – Rosie is now going to have all the fun in the world and all the toys she ever wants!
