Coastal GasLink is currently constructing another massive, 416-mile pipeline, and the Royal Bank of Canada is funding it. The proposed pipeline will cut through Wet’suwet’en land without approval from hereditary chiefs, and just like all other pipelines, is nearly guaranteed to leak eventually. Pipelines designed to carry oil across our country also carry a history and risk of spilling huge amounts of oil, harming wildlife and our environment, says NWF.

When natural gas escapes from a pipeline, it “can build into an explosive concentration,” killing trees and vegetation, causing “explosions and fires,” and releasing “greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.”

Sensitive wildlife will be affected by the construction of this massive pipeline. We share this planet with plenty of other species and must embark on a clean energy future. Sign this petition to demand the Royal Bank of Canada stop financing the construction of this pipeline!
