Heartbreaking Investigation Inside American Kennels [Video]

Recently, The Humane Society of the United States went undercover to investigate The American Kennels pet store. What they found was more shocking and heartbreaking than they had suspected.

This pet store has repeatedly shown a disregard for the health and wellbeing of the puppies in their care. Many of the puppies that investigators found were very sick, and others were in need of adequate veterinary care. Unfortunately, one puppy from the store died as a result of the severe neglect.

Many puppies sold in pet stores such as The American Kennels pet store, come from puppy mills where concern for the health and wellbeing of the animals is nonexistent. Animals are often crammed into dirty, crowded, stacked cages and aren’t receiving adequate food, clean water, or basic veterinary care. The American Kennels specifically gets their dogs from at least three breeders which are known to be extremely inhumane.

HSUS recently sent out an update saying, “Following our investigation into the American Kennels pet store in New York City, the pet store will no longer be able to sell puppies!” The dogs were surrendered to animal rescues and will finally receive proper care. They are asking that people send a message to the USDA to protect dogs and take puppy mill enforcement seriously.
