BADRAP, a California-based animal welfare group, said, “The “sweet, shy” dog was estimated to be about 15 years old – and spent the last 14 being “pampered like a prince” by the California couple who adopted him.”

Johnny Justice, another one of the rescued fighting dogs, died just two days prior to Frodo.

Frodo was named the most accomplished dog of all of the rescues, as he went from being too timid to even look his caretakers in the eye to being so happy and fun-loving.

Frodo’s owners said that he had suffered nightmares after his rescue, and they would turn on the TV or a fan to soothe him back to sleep.

Vick served 19 months in federal prison and had to pay $1 million in restitution to care for the surviving dogs. Once released, he went on to continue his sports career until retiring in 2015.

All of his victims went on to good homes where they spent their last years experiencing the love that they always should have had.
