When the Hope for Paws team responds to calls about abandoned and lost dogs, they never know what to expect. Will the dog be aggressive, calm, or wild? Thankfully, this particular case led them to a sweet girl they named Sparrow.

Sparrow had taken shelter in the alleyways of an apartment complex and was reportedly limping. Once she was spotted, the area was blocked off to prevent her from running away. The dog was severely matted, hungry, and she looked tired. Using food as a distraction, Loretta was able to place the Lucky Leash around her neck. Loretta picked up the sweet girl and at that moment, Sparrow’s new life began.

Sparrow was transported to the vet to be evaluated. She had several tumors hiding underneath all her matted fur as well as a broken leg. Dr. Olds and his team worked diligently to fix her injuries and remove the tumors. With a fresh bath and haircut in the mix, Sparrow not only looked much better but felt much better!

Thanks to Hope for Paws and the amazing work by the vet staff, Sparrow has been able to spread her wings and transform into the beautiful, affectionate, and healthy dog. She even found her forever home thanks to the Forgotten Dog Foundation!
