A group of brave firefighters in Utah recently saved a dog’s life after an apartment fire, demonstrating that heroes come in all forms. On Monday, September 16, firefighters from the Unified Fire Authority (UFA) responded to a fire at an apartment complex in Midvale, Utah. Upon their arrival at 5:30 a.m., they found flames engulfing the building.
After quickly extinguishing the fire, the firefighters were relieved to find no residents were injured. However, inside one of the units, they discovered a dog in a kennel that was unresponsive due to smoke inhalation. Acting quickly, the team rushed the dog outside and began administering pet CPR.
Photos shared by the UFA on Instagram documented the rescue. The images show firefighters using an oxygen mask to revive the dog, followed by a shot of the dog sitting up, visibly recovering and receiving some affection. The firefighters captioned the post with, “Not all heroes wear capes, sometimes they carry leashes.”
Fire officials suspect that the blaze, which caused an estimated $100,000 in damages, may have started due to a cooking accident. While the exact cause is still under investigation, one thing is certain: thanks to the quick actions of the UFA crew, this dog’s life was saved from the fire.
