How Did This Dog Escape While Humans Were at Work? You’ll Have to See It To Believe It!

One adventurous pup recently took escaping to a whole new level.

Meet Penny, the 5-month-old Great Pyrenees and shepherd mix residing in Virginia with her humans. Penny’s daring escape from a locked room while her humans were away at work has left the internet both amused and amazed.

Savannah Tangen and her father share their home with Penny, a lovable canine companion who has become an integral part of their family. Typically, Penny abides by the rules of staying in a secure room while her humans are at work. However, on a particular day, Penny decided to embark on a daring escape mission of her own. Unbeknownst to her humans, Penny used her strong jaws to chew her way through a door, leaving behind a circular opening.

Tangen’s father, equipped with a living-room camera, discovered Penny’s escapade while he was away. He shared the surprising footage with Tangen, revealing Penny sitting casually on the living room couch—clear evidence that she had managed to leave her confinement. Tangen shared her astonishment, saying, “I never expected her to do anything like that! We were surprised but totally understand since she’s still a baby and gets separation anxiety from us when we’re gone.”

The hilarious story of Penny’s breakout quickly made its way to the online community. Tangen shared the tale on Reddit’s r/mildlyinfuriating subreddit, where it garnered a whopping 44,000 upvotes and over 1,700 comments.

While the chewed door has been patched up for the time being, Tangen hinted that the family might consider replacing it in the future. However, Penny’s mischievous exploit has become a cherished family memory and a source of joy for internet users worldwide!
