Dog Rescued After Being Used for Target Practice in Video Online

In a heartwrenching incident in Alabama, a missing dog named Bullet was rescued after a distressing video circulated online. The footage depicted the animal, tied to a tree, facing what appeared to be target practice.

The Etowah County Sheriff’s Office swiftly responded to the social media outcry, describing the treatment as “cruel” and initiating an investigation. Two individuals, including Trenton Dewayne Sudberry, 18, and a juvenile whose identity remains undisclosed, were arrested and charged with animal cruelty. The legal proceedings are ongoing.

Sheriff Jonathon Horton emphasized the seriousness of animal welfare, stating, “Animals cannot speak up, so we have to make sure we do our best to take care of them and be their voice. Animal cases are just as important as any case we work.”

Fortunately, Bullet was safely recovered and reunited with his human, Nicholas Wayne. Wayne, initially unaware of the incident, expressed shock and concern for Bullet’s wellbeing. Despite the trauma, Wayne assured that Bullet is receiving Support to recover from the ordeal. Reflecting on the incident, Wayne shared his desire for the video to remain online as a stark reminder of animal abuse. “He’s traumatized,” Wayne explained, “but other than that he has been very good.”
