What’s better than spending a lovely afternoon relaxing on a swing?! For these chickens, pretty much nothing. Look at this chick go! We’re pretty sure she’s got better balance than us …

As we can see from this chicken’s killer sense of coordination, they are pretty intelligent beings! Did you know chickens can solve puzzles, play games, and learn their own names? They’re even known to show object permanence, which is the ability to understand an object exists, even when they can’t see them.

Despite their high intelligence, life wasn’t always so carefree for these chickens. In fact, they used to be in factory farms, where space is limited – even at cage-free farms – and there are certainly no playgrounds. Thankfully, they now get to live out the rest of their lives at Edgar’s Mission Farm Sanctuary, where animals are free to roam and live out their lives however they please – even if it means spending the whole day on a swing!

Doesn't it take two to tango? Forgive my ignorance, but I know so little about chickens' secret lives. I'm gonna look it up later.
