We will never get tired of hearing about animal lovers who went the extra mile to help animals in need. The story of the officer who drove one and half hours to make sure rescued opossums got the care they needed, left us in awe. And we can’t forget about the story of a kitten who almost drowned in the ocean but was saved by a marine deputy! Seeing these positive stories of people helping animals gives us hope for the future – and this story is doing just that!
When Officer Cardin of the Lakeland Police Department in Florida found a tiny, abandoned kitten hiding at the base of a lamp post at the corner of Florida Avenue and Pine Street, he immediately knew what to do for the little one.
Thank you, Officer Cardin, for rescuing Kesley from the streets and another thanks to Sergent Wallace, for adopting her!
If you’ve ever thought about adding a feline to your family, there are so many cats living in shelters who are in need of a forever home. You have the opportunity to save a life and give a lonely animal a lot of happiness!
Even if you cannot foster or adopt, you can still help kittens. Participate in your local trap-neuter-release program to ensure that no unwanted kittens are born or use your social media accounts to raise awareness about the importance of adoption and spaying or neutering your pets.
