Pet accessories are getting so fancy!
GPS Pet Locators, for example, have been quite popular with pet owners since they first hit the market a couple of years ago. And this past summer, a company called Rethink came out with new Dog Caller app to alert pet owners when their dog may be at risk of overheating in a hot car.
The latest innovation in pet accessories? The doggie pedometer!
The Tagg activity tracker for dogs works much like a pedometer or fuel band does for humans. In addition to its GPS-based locating capabilities, the activity tracker can tell you how much time your pet spends in various “activity zones,” helps you track total activity, and even provides a 90-day activity timeline.
While this is certainly a fun tool (check out these nifty graphics!), it also seems like a great way to make sure your pet is getting the activity it needs to stay healthy. And considering the fact that over 1/3 of American pets are overweight…it couldn’t be more timely.
The activity tracking feature will be available late next week for free for current Tagg owners in an over-the-air update.
