The animal rescue group Beauties and Beasts, Inc. recently shared a post about Sassy, a sweet senior dog with multiple tumors who was scheduled to be euthanized at the city shelter. The dog’s previous caretaker was in hospice care at a nursing home and it was speculated that the roommate contacted Animal Control to come get Sassy. The poor dog deserved a good and safe place for a home – but instead, she was put on the euthanasia list.
Typically, older dogs do not have very good chances of getting adopted from pet shelters, but Sassy’s case turned out to be very special. After she saw the plea to save Sassy’s life, an incredible person drove two and a half hours to the shelter to fetch the lucky pup and give her a wonderful forever home!
Sweet Sassy now has a new home with her amazing guardian, Jennifer, and will spend the rest of her days safe and loved. “This is what miracles are made of,” the rescue team writes, “and THIS is rescue.”
