These oil-free doughnuts have a gentle sweet & spiced flavor, and they’re also super simple to make! A sweet treat to brighten up your day!

Ingredients You Need for Spiced Doughnuts [Vegan]

Dry:

  • 1 cup flour (use GF if needed)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin spice

Wet:

  • 1/2 cup applesauce
  • 1/2 cup plant-based milk
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup or use agave / other liquid sweetener

Glaze / Frosting:

  • 1/2 cup plant-based yogurt sweetened to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon red beet powder

How to Prepare Spiced Doughnuts [Vegan]

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F and grease a donut pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the wet ingredients.
  3. Sift in the flour, baking powder, and spices, then whisk until combined -- do not overmix.
  4. Pour the batter into the doughnut pan and bake for 13-15 minutes, or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean. Let cool in pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  5. *Optional: while the doughnuts bake, prepare your frosting and set aside. Once the doughnuts have cooled down, decorate however you desire.
