How to Prepare Salata Baladia (Tomato & Onion Tahini Salad) [Vegan]
- In a bowl, combine the tahini, lemon juice and water, and mix together until a dressing-like consistency is reached. If desired, thin the dressing more by adding a teaspoon of water at a time until it reaches your desired consistency.
- Toss the jalapeño, tomatoes and onion with the dressing and season the salad with salt. This is best enjoyed cold after sitting in the refrigerator, covered, for 1 hour so all the flavors come together. I’ve enjoyed this salad on falafel sandwiches and with a Kufta Tart; it is super delicious.
