This deliciously spiced roasted cauliflower steak is the perfect summer meal! It is full of delicious flavors and will impress anyone who tries it.
Roasted Cauliflower Steak [Vegan]
Ingredients
For the Roasted Cauliflower Steak:
- 1 cauliflower head
- 1/2 cup curry masala paste (check below for the recipe)
- 1-2 tablespoons chili powder
- 3 teaspoons liquid smoke
- 3 tablespoons gluten-free tamari
- 2 tablespoons dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon pink Himalayan salt
- 2 tablespoons of coconut oil for the pan
For the Masala:
- 1 large onion
- 3-4 garlic cloves
- 4 tablespoons fresh ginger
- 1/4-1/2 teaspoon Red chili pepper (depending on how hot you want it)
- 1 tablespoon turmeric
- 1 tablespoon cumin
- 3 tablespoons Garam Masala
- 1 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon pink Himalayan salt
- 1/4 cup soaked and peeled almonds
- 1 cup fresh cilantro
For the Cashew Cheese:
- 1 cup soaked cashews
- 1 teaspoon nutritional yeast
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 lemon squeezed
- 1/2 cup water
Preparation
- Mix all of the masala ingreidents
- Oil the pan, wash your cauliflower, and slice it into big chunks.
- Add all of the slices to a large bowl and evenly apply all the dry seasonings.
- Then add your liquids: the tamari and liquid smoke.
- Finally, use a basing brush to apply the curry masala paste. Bake on 400°F for 30 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Blend the cashew cheese ingredients on high.
