Ingredients You Need for Maple Chipotle Candied Walnuts [Vegan]

To Soak the Nuts:
  • 2 cups raw walnuts
  • 3 to 4 cups water

To Dehydrate the Mixture:

  • 1/2 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon chipotle powder
  • 1/2 cup maple sugar, finely ground
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon sea salt

 

How to Prepare Maple Chipotle Candied Walnuts [Vegan]

To Soak the Nuts:
  1. To prepare the walnuts, in a medium bowl, soak the walnuts for 3 to 4 hours to soften.
  2. Strain, reserving the walnuts, and discarding the liquid.

To Prepare the Mixture:

  1. To prepare the mixture, place walnuts in a mixing bowl with the remaining ingredients and toss well.
  2. To finish the candied walnuts, set dehydrator at 115°F. Spread an even layer of walnuts on dehydrator trays, leaving room for air circulation. Continue to dehydrate for 7 to 10 hours or until crisp.
  3. Store walnuts in a sealed container and refrigerate to retain crispness.
