The University of California, Los Angeles has a new all-vegan Veggie Grill restaurant!
The plant-based chain has opened a location in UCLA’s Ackerman Student Union’s first-floor dining room, The Daily Bruin reports. The restaurant opened May 15, replacing pizza chain Sbarro.
The Veggie Grill’s vegan menu includes tacos and burritos, bowls like the Sonoran bowl with quinoa, black beans, jalapeños, Brussels sprouts, avocado, salsa, and veggie protein. They also have sandwiches like the Grillin’ Chickin’ sandwich, and even plant-based desserts like lemon blueberry cake.
One UCLA student on Reddit said they were looking forward to the sandwiches and the banh mi style salad.
“I think it’s great because it provides more options for students to have their meals, and it’s healthier compared to Carl’s Jr. and places like that,” student Haoran Zhang told The Daily Bruin.
