On August 4th, 2018, St. Louis will be having its first ever vegan food festival called Vegfest launching at the World’s Fair Pavilion in Forest Park from 11 am to 8 pm!
The event will be organized by the St. Louis Animal Rights Team and everyone is pretty excited. Sasha Monik, one of the central organizers involved in the event, says its very exciting to finally be hosting an all-vegan event in the Midwest. After attending many vegan festivals in Los Angeles, Sasha wishes to bring those amazing experiences she had there back to her hometown of St. Louis.
The festival is expecting to see over 3,000 to 5,000 visitors and is completely free of charge to enter. The event will include guest speakers like vegan chefs, physicians, and cookbook authors, as well as cooking demos, vendors selling anything from food to vegan cosmetics, face painting for the kids, yoga, massages, and even a ventriloquist! Sasha explains that the event will essentially be a carnival, but completely veganized.
Some of the food vendors that will be featured at St. Louis’s VegFest will be Confluence Kombucha, Seedz Cafe, and Frida’s! Sponsors like Bombay Food Junkies, Lush Cosmetics, and Carol House Furniture will also be involved with the event.
One of the central focuses of this event is for everyone to have an amazing time. They are all about inclusivity and want to stress that this event isn’t just for vegans and vegetarians, but anyone who is interested!
For more information, visit the event page on Facebook! The creators of this festival expect it to be a great success.
If you are not going to be in the Midwest this summer and cannot experience the food from vendors like Frida’s, Seedz Cafe, and Confluence Kombucha, we have some recipes for you from this Food Monster App!

Confluence Kombucha serves up a mean avocado toast, so if you cannot try it for yourself, why not try this Nori and Scallion Avocado Toast. It is packed with savory umami flavors!
