Nestle recently launched their first-ever line of prepared vegan meals through their brand Freshly.
Nestle has made it clear that they are an innovative company that is motivated to stay up to modern demands. This includes the popular “flexitarian” diet that people have started to eat. Thus, they have expanded their plant-based food options through acquired businesses like Garden Gourmet.
Their brand expansion also includes a variety of prepared vegan meals that are ready to eat within minutes. The prepared vegan meal options include a variety of cuisines, such as Indian-Spiced Curry Bowls, Farmstead Baked Pasta, and Mac and Cheeze with Garlic Roasted Broccoli. They also offer prepared meal options with vegan meat alternatives like the Rainbow Harvest Plant Burger and Purely Plant Crumbles Burrito. All of these options start at $8.49 per meal and can be ordered online through Freshly.
In the past year, the sales of plant-based foods have gone up by 27% percent. Making the plant-based food market an extremely lucrative path for businesses to take. Because of Nestle’s wide range of brands, they have been able to make a significant dent in the plant-based market. Offering new vegan products, such as coffee creamer, sweetened condensed milk, and vegan meat products. They are working closely with plant-based brands such as Sweet Earth to quickly get out more vegan-friendly options.
The Nestle company has stated that “At Nestlé, we’re meeting this trend with delicious plant-based foods that deliver on taste, nutrition and value.”
Nestle is just another company to jump on the prepared vegan food wagon. Many other companies have started to offer vegan and vegetarian options. Making the switch to a vegan or flexitarian diet easier than ever.
