Hershey’s chocolate has just released two limited edition oat milk chocolate bars for their vegan and dairy-free crowd. They are the very first dairy-free bars that Hershey’s has made. As part of a market test, the bars will be available at select stores, including Target, until June 2022.

The company is offering two different flavors of the oat milk bar: the Classic Dark and Extra Creamy Almond & Sea Salt. The bars are certified as being completely dairy-free, vegan, non-GMO, and made with Rainforest Alliance Certified cocoa powder.

These new chocolate bars are part of Hershey’s commitment to creating a line of “Better for you” chocolate bars that are healthier as well as being plant-based.

This announcement is very exciting for the vegan community as Hershey’s is one of the last large chocolate brands to jump on the dairy-free bandwagon. Other notable chocolate brands have already begun the process of expanding their products to include vegan chocolates.

With Hershey’s being one of the oldest and most popular brands of chocolate in the US. It is very exciting to see the prospect of a permanent line of dairy-free chocolates. Though these bars are only limited-time options, they are just the start of what hopes to be a real vegan Hershey’s line.
