Breakfast is arguably the most important meal of the day. When you kickstart your day with a good start, fueling yourself with minerals, vitamins and the many phytonutrients that plants offer, you are likely to make healthier choices and have more energy throughout the whole day.
Just because you’re giving up your bacon and eggs does not mean your life is boring and dead. Rather than starting off your day with a cup of milk, why not replace that with almond milk instead?
Replacing animal protein with plant-based protein for breakfast can give you the fiber and phytonutrients — without the extra saturated fat and acidifying effect to your body.
And plant-based breakfast does not just mean smoothies. Of course, smoothies are great, giving us endless blending possibilities. However, we can also have other types of breakfasts, like salads, pancakes, oatmeal – you name it!
While we have a wide array of recipes to choose from, I’ve cherry picked five breakfast recipes from One Green Planet in various categories, from pancakes to savory breakfast. I’ll also be talking about the best ingredients used in those recipes that are good for you and taste divine!

This recipe is gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, raw, and divine. What I love most about this recipe is the cashew cream, which is a great substitute of the cream you find in most tarts on the market. Making luscious and tangy cashew cream is easy.
Top that with the beautifying colorful fruit and berries high in anti-oxidants, and the crunchy smoky cake tart that gives the tart a nutty flavor. A guilt-free, simple, and delicious treat that you can eat…one bite at a time.

This recipe is gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan. This is a fusion recipe with a unique blend of the East and West cultures.
The crepes are easy to make: just your basic crepes modified with a healthy twist, and you can fill them however you like, if you don’t find the toppings filling enough. The saltiness of the sea salt and the sweetness of the brown sugar complement the smoky vanilla and tangy lime juice.
For an even healthier version of the recipe, substitute sea salt with Himalayan salt and brown sugar with coconut flower sugar.

Looking for your chocolate fix? This chocalicious recipe will flood your taste buds and satisfy your cravings. Adding to that, this recipe is dairy-free and vegan, made with fresh ingredients. I particularly love having avocado in the recipe, which gives you lots of healthy fats and smooth texture to the smoothie. The fresh mint leaves will add a bit of zest to the chocolate flavor and brighten your day with a smile.
And yes, we all know that raw cocoa contains flavonoids that can boost your health and destroy free radicals, given you the anti-oxidant benefits.

What’s better than this freshly made hazelnut cashew milk recipe which is vegan, healthy, and dairy free, with no carrageenan in it?
Making your own nut milk is simple and easy. The hazelnuts will give this milk a unique taste that goes well with lattes, coffees, smoothies, and even desserts!

While this recipe is not raw, you may want to try it when you’re in the mood for a savory breakfast. This recipe is dairy free, gluten free, and vegan.
The nutritional yeast will give you a wide array of B vitamins and give this “omelette” a cheesy flavor. Top that with iron-rich dark green spinach, anti-inflammatory garlic, and turmeric, and you have a very delicious and healthy breakfast! The spicy chili pepper will give your dish an extra oomph and excite your taste buds.
