It seems almost all restaurants and fast food chains are realizing that plant-based additions to the menu are the way to go. Big chains have really been stepping it up lately. Tim Horton’s, who never sold any kind of burgers, added meatless Beyond burgers to the menu! Even more recently, Dunkin’ added plant-based Beyond sausage to a breakfast sandwich as well. Now, Baskin-Robbins is joining the party!
Baskin-Robbins is one of the most popular ice cream shops in the United States. They’ve been around since 1945, so it was only a matter of time before they added dairy-free ice cream. Well, the time has come!
Baskin-Robbins is adding two new dairy-free, vegan options to their menus nationwide in August. The flavors are: Non-Dairy Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough made with chocolate chunks, cookie dough pieces, and a chocolate ribbon, and Non-Dairy Chocolate Extreme which has chocolate chunks, a chocolate ribbon, and is gluten-free.
Director of Research and Development, Jeanne Bolger says: “The Baskin-Robbins culinary team has been hard at work on our non-dairy flavors for over two years. It was important for us to take the time to get it right. Both flavors are so smooth and indulgent, and the final product delivers the incredible quality that our customers have come to expect from any Baskin-Robbins ice cream. We’re very proud of the result.”
Like all their other ice creams (since 2017), they are free of artificial dyes. The dairy-free flavors are also Kosher and free of preservatives, artificial flavors, and high fructose corn syrup.
These vegan additions are exciting, but if you’d like to try making your own dairy-free ice cream, give it a shot with these recipes from the Food Monster App:
