Beyond Meat’s burgers and sausages have changed the way people think of plant-based ‘meat.’ They’ve become popular items in supermarkets and restaurants, even on the menus of restaurants one never expected to jump on the plant-based train. Recently, Tim Horton’s, Canada’s famous breakfast, coffee, and donut chain added Beyond Meat burgers to their menu and they have Beyond Meat breakfast sandwiches too. Now, the U.S. counterpart is following their lead!
Dunkin’ (formerly Dunkin’ Donuts), is adding plant-based Beyond Meat to the menu! It will be available in a breakfast sandwich. Currently, they are testing this new menu item out in Manhattan locations, but the goal is to eventually launch it nationally.

The breakfast sandwich will be served with egg and cheese, so it will not be vegan, but it will have the plant-based patty helping customers see how delicious and easy plant-based can be. It also incites hope that maybe someday Dunkin’ will add plant-based egg and/or cheese alternatives since they’re interested in moving in a plant-based direction.
Beyond Meat CEO, Ethan Brown is most excited about the plant-based product being accessible and easy to enjoy. He said, “It’s not that interesting to me that really rich people eat super healthy food. It’s not moving the needle. You see other chains that are upcharging a dollar or something, but this is a chance to meet consumer where we are.”
The plant-based breakfast sandwich will cost $4.29, a similar price to the other breakfast sandwiches at Dunkin’. It’s currently available in Manhattan locations only, but if you’re interested in eating more plant-based foods, keep an eye out for when it’s available nationwide.

Salty, sweet, saucy, crunchy, hot, chewy – that is what this ‘Sausage’ Sweet Potato Breakfast Sandwich by Jennifer Harmon has to offer. The Sriracha maple aioli gives this sandwich a spiciness not generally found in breakfast foods, but the maple reigns it in to perfection.
