This feral cat spent a whole year hiding in the bathroom! Watch how her foster mom finally gets her to become a lap cat.
When Suzy’s owner first brought her home, she was so timid and afraid that she hid away in the bathroom. She found the highest point she could go, even climbing her way to the top of a high mirror near the bathroom ceiling. Sometimes, she would even lose her balance and fall into the sink. It seemed like she had never felt safe enough to sleep deeply before, said her owner.
She put a warm and comfortable bed in the sink so that the poor cat would have a cushion to break her fall. While the first couple of days seemed to be very difficult, her owner found her slowly finding the courage to go out and explore the rest of the house in the middle of the night. She made her way from the bathroom to a new hiding spot under the couch and was even seen playing around and eating her food as the days went on. It seemed as though she was enjoying her life a little more each day.
Suzy’s owner originally found her at a dumping ground and must have endured scary conditions, and felt so scared and lost roaming around on her own. Her tough experience made it difficult for her to trust a human so quickly and is the reason why she spent almost a full year hiding around the house in secret spots. After about four months of patience and building up consistent trust, Suzy finally came out of hiding and started to show her own affection. This resilient cat, now named “Suzy The Cat Whisperer” can be found sitting on her owner’s lap and being spoon-fed baby food!
