Animal Aid Unlimited jumped into action when they received a call that a puppy had fallen into boiling water. When the team found the dog, they saw a severely burned leg and underside and knew they had to act fast.

The dog, who they named Basanti, was a friendly girl despite the pain she no doubt was experiencing due to the terrible burns she suffered. She allowed the Animal Aid team to care for her, even remove the dead layer of skin to stop the infection, without any struggle. It’s as if she knew that they had her best interest at heart. The process took several days, but Basanti was patient and Animal Aid was dedicated.

After three months of treatment, Basanti has healed and is ready to play. She has a chance at a new life that she wouldn’t have had without Animal Aid.

It’s unclear how the dog fell into the boiling water but, as of right now, there is no suspicion of animal cruelty. Rather, this is believed to be an unfortunate accident. What’s quite fortunate, however, is that Basanti is now in Animal Aid’s care, where she will be safe and loved.
