When Dawn the elderly ewe was surrendered into the care of Edgar’s Mission Farm Sanctuary, she was completely unable to walk and appeared as if she had given up all hope on life. Like any animal that comes into Edgar’s care, Dawn was given all the appropriate care she would need to recover, but without that added spark to live, her future started to look bleak.
Knowing they had to do whatever possible to help this ewe, the Edgar’s team contacted her rescuer and discovered that she had recently given birth to twins. The bond between a mother sheep and her babies is just as beautiful and strong as that of a human mother and her children, so there was no questioning that the cure to Dawn’s sadness lay with her babies. With that, Edgar’s made the call and Dawn’s two little ones came to live on the sanctuary as well.
Seeing the happy mom react to the sight of her little ones is sure to warm your heart. Every animal deserves the chance to live a happy, healthy life alongside their loved ones and we are so grateful that Edgar’s Mission could make this happen.
