The state of the environment is a huge problem. Sometimes it's so huge that you might find yourself saying "what can I do"? But this sort of defeatist thinking is going to be responsible for the eradication of thousands of animal species. I believe that it's every individual's responsibility to take ownership of their actions and do what's best for the people and animals around them.

We all love and adore cats and dogs, but while these animals are extremely common companions, unfortunately, there is still a huge problem with animal homelessness in the U.S. According to the Humane Society of the United States, about six to eight million animals enter the nation’s shelters every year. Of that number only three to five million of them get adopted. The remaining animals either end up facing euthanasia or left to wait in shelters for years on end. This statistic is incredibly sad, especially considering that each one of those animals is capable of providing a lifetime of fun, companionship, and love.
