It is no secret that living with animals is good for your health. According to WebMD, those with pets have lower blood pressure, stronger hearts, better immune systems, and a lower incidence of depression than their pet-free peers. In fact, pets have proven to be a great way to help depressed people find motivation in their lives, which is how Hanna the dog met her new papa.

At the time that Hanna came into his life, this Imgur user was experiencing a bit of a slump. But just one look at this eight-week-old ball of cuteness, and he immediately began to feel better.

Having Hanna to provide for, gave his life a stronger sense of purpose. Soon, he and Hanna were out and about, exploring the world together.

Dogs have a natural enthusiasm for living that can be quite contagious! The game of fetch turned out to be one of their favorite things to do together.

Hiking is another hobby that they both enjoyed.

Hanna was a great companion to any adventure.

As she got older, he would even bring her to work with him. Although she didn’t like all of the loud noises, she would hang out anyway, enjoying being close to her dad.

Travel can be one of the best ways to find yourself and dogs make great traveling companions. Here is Hanna at the Grand Canyon. She ended up seeing more of the U.S. than some people do!

And here she is on Mt Hood, in Oregon.

Hanna was loved and showed love to her human for six years, which ended up being her entire life. Sadly, Hanna passed away this year, during the holiday season.  This sweet pup was able to mean the world to someone, as I’m sure he was her whole world, too. Hanna will be dearly missed.

Her dad writes, “All dogs go to heaven, because, unlike people, dogs are naturally good and loyal and kind.”
