Shot in the Face by a Family Member, Ruby the Dog Gets Help. You Won’t Believe Who Adopted Her!

One adorable puppy named Ruby now has a bright, new outlook on life after suffering an injury that could have very easily ended in tragedy.

After a family member inside Ruby’s home discharged a weapon, the nine-month old boxer mix puppy was shot. The bullet entered her jaw and came out of her neck. Authorities are still investigating the details of the incident.

The poor dog was hurt so badly that the family would have had to shell out significant cash to pay for her procedures and treatment. Unable to cover the cost, they decided to surrender her to the hospital rather than euthanize her.

Doctor Jeff Zolkiewicz performed life-saving procedures on Ruby. But his care for this injured pooch went far beyond that: he actually took Ruby home and made her the newest addition of his own family!

Though it breaks our hearts when we see animals who have been hurt, it makes us glad to see when kindhearted people step in to do the right thing and care for sentient beings in need.
