George, a 2-year-old Rottweiler, and his younger dog sibling, Charlie, a golden retriever have gone viral, making it as Newsweek’s Pet of the Week. Together, they have an extraordinary bond under the care of their loving mom, Tonya Fainter.
Since Charlie’s arrival as a tiny pup, George has embraced his role as the elder brother. Fainter shared that their relationship mirrors that of a typical big brother and little brother, complete with occasional mischief!
One particular moment captured the essence of their brotherly bond. Last September, George took it upon himself to teach Charlie the art of swimming. Fainter recounted the heartwarming scene, describing how George’s guidance and encouragement paved the way for Charlie’s confidence in the water. The lesson began with just a gentle nudge from George and Charlie splashing into the water.
“George is a great big brother to Charlie and teaches him so many things,” Fainter reflects with fondness. “Charlie adores his big brother and always wants to do everything George does. He sits where he sits, plays with what he plays with, and goes where he goes.”
