Tony Kanal, the bassist for No Doubt, is no stranger to the life of animal activism. He actively works with PETA and organizes auctions for Animal Acres. Not to mention, he goes the extra mile, literally, and visits the farm sanctuaries he supports.
Recently, Kanal ventured out to Northern California to help out the folks at the adoption center for the animal sanctuary, Animal Place. Along with Animal Place’s staff and intern team, Kanal had the glorious task of introducing 1,310 hens to a new life of freedom. This was the first time any of them ever actually engaged in any bird-like activities like flapping their wings, pecking at dirt or dust-bathing. Seeing them soar out of their transport just makes us smile!
The hens will be staying at Animal Place’s shelter until they find forever homes. To learn more about these hens, check out Animal Place’s Hen Rescue Adoption Website.
