The Guardians of the Voiceless team has saved the life of another animal who desperately needed human help – this time, however, it was not a dog, but a little pig.
They found the poor animal lying on a pile of garbage next to the road, his body covered in scratches. As they got closer, the rescuers noticed that he was shaking badly in the cold and had a large cut on one of his hind legs.
The rescuers managed to find the person responsible for Wilbur, a man raising pigs for a living. They offered to help Wilbur and provide medication, but he refused. The Guardians were helpless. The following day, they found Wilbur in the very same spot as before, shaking and crying, and with a new wound on his front leg. The man claimed that the animal was to be slaughtered, but the rescuers were not about to let that happen.
After some negotiations, the man agreed to sell Wilbur to the Guardians. They took him right to the vet where the pig was thoroughly examined and his wounds were treated.
“All souls deserve love and compassion,” the rescuers stated, and they will now do everything to find the best home possible for Wilbur so he can live out his life surrounded by respect and loving care.
