Fraser Booth was born with autism and struggled to connect and communicate with his family and others around him. Understandably, this caused him to experience an enormous amount of stress and frustration. As a result of this building frustration, Fraser would lash out in tantrums and his mom feared he would never be able to enjoy his young life. That is, until Billy the cat came into the picture.
Billy was rescued from an abandoned house by a local shelter and was in desperate need of a forever home. When Mrs. Booth brought her son to the shelter to look for a pet, Fraser took an interest in the little gray and white cat – which his mom explains was remarkable as he rarely showed interest in anything. Almost instinctively, Billy knew just what to do to calm Fraser down to keep him from spiraling into a tantrum. Fraser’s mom was endlessly thrilled to see what a positive influence this cat had on her son and knew that he would now have a friend to comfort him in ways that others couldn’t.
With Billy by his side, Fraser is learning how to adjust to the world around him and become a more confident little boy. What an incredible cat, indeed!
